Arts and Culture

Embrace the Arts

The beauty of "natural Florida" along the majestic Suwannee River is not the only thing to enjoy at Advent Christian Village. Members and visitors are often invited to participate in an array of activities that engage the senses. Concerts, lectures, exhibits and classes are held regularly which expand the mind, excite the soul and enrich life.

It's OK to Show Off

We love when our members share their creations. The arts and stimulating cultural events have long flourished at Advent Christian Village. Members are encouraged and participate in and hold their own artistic pursuits and cultural activities. There are a number of areas around ACV designated for the display of creativity. The exhibits are usually rotated monthly and are regular spots of interest for members and guests alike. And there are several areas available to members where performances can be held.

A Place to Grow

At Advent Christian Village, we know that our members are still growing and learning. To encourage discovery, sessions by speakers from inside and outside the community are regularly held. ACV forums invite any number of knowledgeable people to talk about a variety of interests, current events, history, etc. Medical professionals are invited to speak within their specialties, such as disease prevention, knee replacement, balance, etc. ACV staff are asked to speak during membership meetings. And members are invited to share their expertise as well. Learning is a powerful thing and, at Advent Christian Village, it is encouraged regularly.

It's Time to Get Things Started

Advent Christian Village regularly hosts local, regional and nationally-regarded vocalists, instrumentalists and actors who come to entertain ACV's members and guests. For 28 years, Advent Christian Village has hosted some of the country's top performers through the annual artist series, Live! at Dowling Park. Performances are varied and include symphonies, theater, musicians, actors, dancers and comedians. Season tickets to ACV's Artist Series also grant admission to two other artist series in the area, enabling ticket holders to attend 25–30 cultural events each year.

Live! at Dowling Park has been bringing the cultural arts to the Suwannee River Valley through events held at Advent Christian Village since 1987. Each season is an exciting variety of music, multimedia and drama.
