Gateway City Big Band
Monday, Aug. 29, 2016
The Gateway City Big Band has been bringing the smooth and swinging sounds of the Big Band Era to north Florida since 1993. Started by the former conductor of Walt Disney’s Top of the World Orchestra, the band continues to echo the sounds of the great big bands of the 1930s and 40s, as well as including more modern selections and contemporary arrangements for today’s listeners. Under the direction of ACV friend Matt Johns, this group of exceptional musicians delights their audiences. The band’s extensive library contains selections from Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and many, many more!

Live! at Dowling Park is pleased to bring back Con Brio, an internationally acclaimed string quartet comprised of Valentin Mansurov, Marina Lenau, David Pedraza and Aziz Sapaev. Each of these talented, young players has received numerous scholarships and competitive awards. Based in southeast Florida, they perform individually with the Symphony of the Americas, the Palm Beach Symphony, and the Florida Grand Opera. Together, Con Brio is prepared to delight with their skill, passion and energy.

Songs that are mostly new, with age-old themes, Williamson Branch’s music is mostly bluegrass, sometimes country, often times gospel, but always fresh and exciting. Their vocals soar with a closeness that can only be found in family members. Their instrumentation is impressive, their laughter is contagious, their clog dancing is exhilarating, and their personalities are sparkling. The Williamsons first played in Dowling Park in 2014 and we’re thrilled to have them return. Artist's website.

American pianist Thomas Pandolfi is an exciting virtuoso who, with each passing season, is becoming more and more sought after by audiences worldwide, and showered with superlatives by critics for his passionate artistry and amazing technique. Among his engagements during the 2016-17 season, Thomas will be a guest soloist with The Paducah Symphony (Kentucky), the Charlotte Symphony (Florida), and the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic. His recital touring schedule will take him across the United States on a 20-state tour. Artist's website.
