Why We Give

Donating a little bit of money or time may not seem like much if you look at yourself alone. However, your charitable donation, joined with others, can have a much larger impact. You don’t need $10,000 to make a difference in someone’s life, as any little bit truly helps.

When you donate to a cause, you create opportunities to meet new people who believe in the same cause that inspires you! Knowing you’re making an impact to something that’s near and dear to your heart is something that can infuse your life with more meaning.

“We choose to give to ACV primarily because of the way they care for the members. There are no large overhead costs taken out of our gift, like there would be with so many charitable organizations. Our gifts go toward doing the right thing—helping people. Advent Christian Village is very dedicated to caring for retired people for the rest of their lives. In 30 plus years of coming to the Village for family visits, we have never seen a single member of the staff with a bad attitude; they do their work with love in their hearts.”

Six months out of the year, we call Maggie Valley, North Carolina, “home.” But when the leaves change and the chill in the air returns, we hurry south to our Advent Christian Village home. We began giving to ACV soon after we became members. We feel a responsibility to return our excess to the Lord’s work and enjoy doing so. We know where the money is going when we give to ACV. We see and approve of what’s going on here and that encourages us to continue to support the ministry. Besides, you can’t take it with you.
