ACV’s New Service Coordinator is a Perfect Fit

Nancy Moral

When asked what it is about Advent Christian Village that makes it so great, most members talk about the people — not only the people who live here, but also the amazing people who work here. One of ACV’s newest employees, Service Coordinator Nancy Moral, is no exception to this praise.

One of the greatest benefits of ACV membership is its Service Coordinators. Every ACV member is assigned a Service Coordinator. What is a Service Coordinator? In a nutshell, they are advocates for ACV members, tasked with seeing to it that each has all of the services that they require to attain their highest quality of life. They assist with a vast array of other issues as well — everything from helping new members become acclimated to the community to being a contact person for family members to helping take care of the many details involved in hospital discharges.

Nancy Moral, a Madison, Florida resident, joined the ACV Social Services team in July. She was born in Washington, D.C., but moved to Florida at a very young age and has lived here for most of her life since. She did return to Washington for about four years to finish high school and attend some college before moving back.

Nancy has three children with her husband, Bob, who she met while they both served on a prison ministry in south Florida. They were married in 1985. Nancy homeschooled their children while running the family business and also teaching special education some school years. Nancy holds a degree in special education and has a master’s in education.

The Morals remained in south Florida until all three kids had moved out of the house. In 2010, they moved to Lee, Florida. Nancy took a job with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in Tallahassee. Her job was to write textbooks for the Florida police academies. She worked that position for five years and then took a closer-to-home job with the Senior Citizens Council of Madison County, Florida. There, she was the personnel supervisor and fiscal officer.

Nancy really enjoyed her job working with the many seniors serviced by the Senior Citizens Council, but when she saw the advertisement for an ACV Service Coordinator, she felt God’s leading for her to apply. The job offer came almost immediately and she jumped in with two feet.

“This is really where God wants me,” says Nancy. She says she feels such satisfaction in the work she is doing here. She loves the personal interaction with her members. And she especially loves that working at Advent Christian Village is a ministry.

She is also happy with the changes that have come in her life since she started working here. “My friends tell me, ‘You look so much better,’” she smiles.

ACV is just as happy with Nancy. She is already making lasting connections with those members she serves. She’s pleasant and helpful and has become another reason people love living at Advent Christian Village.
